A forehead lift is often performed to treat conditions associated with aging. It may be done in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures to achieve a more harmonious facial appearance. A forehead lift is also appropriate for treatment of certain inherited traits. Younger adults who have a low brow or who already have deep frown lines due to stress or over activity of muscles may benefit from the Forehead Lift procedure.

Cosmetic  Approach

Many patients prefer to start with a non-surgical approach.  A great way to raise your brow and smooth your forehead is through injections using botox, xeomin or dysport. You will see wonderful results and the beneficial effect will last for 3 months.  One advantage to this approach is that it is temporary. If you don’t like the results, your former appearance with return in 3 months.

Endoscopic Browlift / Forehead Lift

Over time the brow and forehead will drop due to gravity. Once you start developing forehead creases and lines, its an early sign that gravity is playing its part. The best option is to surgically lift it with short scar endoscopic lift or a short scar hairline incision lift. Both have a quick recovery.

Dr. Pooya performs brow and forehead lifts to raise eyebrows and reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead, thus creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other surgeries.

Dr Pooya’s technique allows him to perform Forehead Lifting through small incisions in the scalp by using an endoscope and specialized instruments. This accelerates the healing process.

Endoscopic Surgery

The endoscopic approach has only recently been applied to plastic surgery procedures. There are some known risks, which vary in severity depending on the procedure being performed. Dr Pooya can discuss this with you at the time of your consultation.

The Endoscope

An endoscope functions as a viewing device. It consists of a tubular probe fitted with a tiny camera and bright light, which is inserted through a small incision; and a viewing screen to magnify the transmitted images of the body’s internal structures. Dr Pooya watches the screen while moving the tube through the surgical area.

Advantages of Endoscopy

Because it involves smaller incisions, endoscopy leaves very minimal scarring. To insert the probe, only a few incisions less than one inch long are required. Shorter incisions also reduce risk of sensory loss due to nerve damage. Also, bleeding, bruising and swelling may be significantly reduced.

Furthermore, the recovery period tends to be shorter with no need for an overnight hospital stay. Many endoscopic procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation.

Special Considerations and Risks

Post-Operative Information

Antibiotics may be prescribed for several days following surgery. Sutures are generally removed within one week. Swelling and some bruising may occur, which should subside within a few weeks. A final evaluation may occur within several months from the initial surgical procedure.
